Aims

The aim of this website is to:

1. share progress and information from the Crudwell Flood Action Group (Crudwell FLAG).
2. show how watercourses including the River Swill Brook must be maintained, to reduce the risk of flooding.
3. share resources with other communities.

Priorities

The FLAG’s priorities for 2026 are:

1. Increase parish resilience by creating more Flood Wardens.
2. Reduce the flood risk by getting more maintenance done.
3. Reduce the flood risk by pursuing Wiltshire Council to implement small improvements to Highways drainage.
4. Find a new way to engage with local farmers - because we would like to reduce the flood risk by identifying local opportunities for Natural Flood Management.
5. Improve monitoring and alerting by (eg) finding a way to buy an online river depth meter, or to implement affordable IoT devices.
6. Continue to proactively engage with our community and keep the flood risk to homes as low as possible. We might create a new website in order to better show progress and share information.
